BGQ-1821: Cybersecurity Analyst (Huntsville, AL)

deciBel Research has an immediate opening for an experienced Cybersecurity Analyst in Huntsville, AL.

Position Description:

deciBel Research is seeking a Cybersecurity Analyst with the ability to implement Risk Management Framework (RMF) and Assessment & Authorization (A&A) processes into information systems and programs. The candidate will work with Integrated Product Teams (IPT) to implement information security consistent with standards such as the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), Department of Defense Directives/Instructions, and Army Regulations (AR 25-2). The candidate will be responsible for the security posture of information systems and programs to include developing security policy and procedures, integration of security requirements into system designs, assessing security control compliance, and coordinating cybersecurity test and evaluation. The candidate will suggest cybersecurity solutions and process improvements to minimize risks to computer network defense threats.  Regular management, maintenance, and use of network vulnerability scanning and cybersecurity tools is expected. Additional areas of expertise expected are technical knowledge of computing environments (Windows, Unix/Linux), vulnerability tools (ACAS, DISA SCAP), and Enterprise Mission Assurance Support Service (eMASS). Approximately 15-25% travel is estimated.

Education Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in related discipline such as Aerospace, Mathematics, Physics, Software Engineering or Computer Science.  Master's degree preferred.

Experience Requirements:
The successful candidate will possess 6-10 years of professional experience in cybersecurity. Will have experience with Unix/Linux and Windows computing environments. Knowledgeable of DISA STIGs and SRGs. Familiarity with information security frameworks (RMF, NIST, DSS). Must be professional and be able to communicate technical and non-technical discussion to large groups. Capable of working in a dynamic and fast-paced environment. A DoD 8570.01-M & DoD 8140.01 IAT Level II certification is required (Security+ CE).

Special Skills Desired:

Position Description:
deciBel Research is seeking an experienced Systems Engineer to perform requirements development/derivation and software architecture design for a radar simulation framework.
The selected candidate will work with radar Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) and software engineers to design the radar simulation software along with the required interfaces. 

The candidate will work closely with the implementation and test teams to maintain requirements traceability and support requirements verification.  Additional duties include creation of required SDRLs like software user’s manual, test and verification plan, algorithm description document, software requirements and software description.  The selected candidate will document systems engineering processes and practices.

Position Description:
deciBel Research is seeking an experienced Software Quality and Safety Manager to manage and execute Software Quality, Safety and Mission Assurance for a Ballistic Missile Defense System (BMDS) program in support of the Missile Defense Agency (MDA). The Software Quality and Safety manager will be responsible for maintaining quality and safety in a fast paced software engineering environment in accordance with the program SQMA plan.

The top priority of this position is to ensure software quality for the program with the majority of time spent in software QA activity. The SQMA manager will execute the SQMA processes compliant with the MDA Mission Assurance Provisions (MAP). Requires excellent communication and organizations skills in order to complete tasks on time and in compliance with AS9100 and CMMI level processes / procedures.

Duties Include:

  •     Creating policies and procedures to protect the life and well-being of Contractor and Agency employees, the public, and MDA property and equipment.
  •     Guaranteeing adherence to all applicable local, state and federal safety laws/regulations as well as the safety requirements of the MAP.
  •     Managing safety and occupational health activities and ensuring compliance with the MAP and applicable federal, state, and local laws, regulations and rules for this contract.

The Systems Engineer will be responsible for performing in-depth requirements analysis and derivation, trade studies, Modeling and Simulation (M&S), Verification and Validation (V&V), test, integration, and evaluation for phenomenology models that simulate the natural environments to include solar, space, atmosphere, and Earth.

The Systems Engineer will be responsible for in-depth analysis of  environment model problem reports to include software code and algorithms. The Systems Engineer will work with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs), software engineers, software developers, and Government customer to develop detailed requirements from system-level requirements using system engineering best practices. 

Education Requirements: Bachelor of Science, Master of Science, PhD in Engineering, Math, Physics, Atmospheric Science or a related discipline.

Experience Requirements:
The successful candidate must possess 5 to 20 years of experience working with BMDS M&S Environment products that simulate solar space, atmosphere, and Earth phenomenology.

Position Description:

deciBel Research is seeking an experienced Software Test Engineer for a Ballistic Missile Defense System (BMDS) software Modeling and Simulation (M&S) program in support of the Missile Defense Agency (MDA). The Software Test Engineer will participate in all major system and software development reviews in order to understand the requirements and develop a top down traceability matrix. To adequately perform software testing, the team member must be able to review requirements and make sure that they are clear, concise, and testable.

Test support will be performed in an Agile software development environment utilizing the Kanban framework supported by Atlassian Suite software development tools.

The candidate will support the program manager to satisfy the Earned Value Management reporting requirements of a government sponsored program. Duties And Responsibilities:

  • Assists with the development of the program's cost and schedule baseline to be presented at Integrated Baseline Reviews (IBR) with the government.
  • Ensures the program cost and schedule baseline satisfies contractual requirements.
  • Assists with the development and execution of programmatic budgets and financial plans that align with the program baseline.
  • Participates in the control of costs and schedules on contracts requiring a validated Earned Value Management (EVM).
  • Attends meetings and briefings to Government Clients on EVM and schedule performance.
